Giving back to communities in need is one of our corporate values. Our MoneyGram Global Giving program provides approximately $500,000 in grants annually to non-profit organizations around the globe. MoneyGram also commits funds to fee relief during times of disaster, including temporarily reducing or eliminating fees. In addition to its focus on disaster relief, The MoneyGram Global Giving program provides grants around the world for microfinance programs and essential education services.

MoneyGram International Responds to Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami
Company donates $25,000 to American Red Cross for relief efforts in Japan.
MoneyGram transferred cash donations direct to the American Red Cross through April 16 for the Disaster Relief fund for the Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami.
2010 Highlights

200,000 Locations, $200,000 dollars
During the week of June 9, 2010, MoneyGram announced grants totaling $200,000 to five organizations providing disaster management, education or microfinance services in El Salvador, China, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Senegal and Spain. The grants were part of MoneyGram’s global celebration of its 200,000th agent location.

Support for Haiti
MoneyGram’s comprehensive support for Haiti following the earthquake in January 2010 included a customer donation program that directed nearly $100,000 to the American Red Cross as well as a corporate donation of at least $250,000 based on $2 per transaction sent from anywhere in the world to Haiti through June 30. MoneyGram worked to rapidly restore service to Haiti following the massive earthquake and today the company has approximately 130 locations in Haiti with agents Caribbean World Trading S A, Grace Trading, Moneylink S A, and Rapid Transfe/Foncoze and Unibank.
2009 Overview
In 2009, MoneyGram’s $1 million of community support helped build homes, deliver basic needs and education services, and supported consumers with urgent fee relief following natural disasters in several countries. Throughout the year, we continued our work in enriching the lives of the people and communities who rely on our money transfer services.

Children of Vietnam
Children of Vietnam is one of more than 25 organizations that received a MoneyGram Global Giving grant in 2009. MoneyGram employees from Hong Kong and Vietnam agent DongA Bank, celebrated with the community as they opened the new kindergarten built with the grant.

Fundación Protectora de Puebla
Aurora Taboada de Marín
Fundación Protectora de Puebla Aurora Taboada de Marín is a leading foundation in Puebla, Mexico that provides funding for young adults to attend college and vocational schools locally. MoneyGram was the first U.S. business to provide funds to the foundation. The $10,000 will fund eight young women during their three years of nursing school.

Niños en Alegria
MoneyGram is helping builds schools with Niños en Alegria, a Mexican non-profit refurbishing and building schools in communities around Acapulco. MoneyGram Regional Manager for Mexico, Robert Burford-Avila (right) helps dedicate a school with Alejandra Alemán, president of Niños en Alegria.
Currently, MoneyGram is building a list of agencies that provide services in countries around the world. Agencies may e-mail information about their agency and any background information to giving@moneygram.com for consideration.
Agencies must present evidence of their financial management practices to be considered. Funds are awarded primarily for programs delivered outside of the United States in countries around the world that send and receive remittances.
