How can I update my personal information?
You can update your personal information in your MoneyGram profile. To do it, you need to log in to your account, go to a ‘profile’ or ‘view profile info’ section, and then click on an edit button next to your personal information.
What is the 'right to be forgotten'?
The right to be forgotten (also known as the ‘right to erasure’) allows individuals to get their data deleted from MoneyGram systems. The right only applies in the following circumstances:
- The organization no longer needs your data for the original reason they collected or used it for.
- You initially consented to the organization using your data but have now withdrawn your consent.
- You have objected to the use of your data, and your interests outweigh those of the organization using it.
- You have objected to the use of your data for direct marketing purposes.
- The organization has collected or used your data unlawfully.
- The organization has a legal obligation to erase your data.
- The data was collected from you as a child for an online service.
However, MoneyGram can refuse to erase your data in the following circumstances:
- When the company is legally obliged to keep hold of your data, such as to comply with financial or other regulations;
- When the company is carrying out a task in the public interest;
- If MoneyGram proves that your interests do not outweigh the company’s legitimate interests; or
- When keeping your data is necessary for establishing, exercising, or defending legal claims.
How can I delete my personal information?
You can delete your MoneyGram data by submitting a request via our Privacy Contact Us Form and selecting “Delete my personal information.” in the request type drop-down menu. However, due to certain regulatory requirements MoneyGram may be obliged to retain your personal information for a specific period and in those instances, we will let you know.
How can I close my MoneyGram profile?
You can close your MoneyGram profile by submitting a request via the Customer Service Contact Us Form selecting “General Question or Feedback”, and providing a brief description of your request.
What is the 'right to restrict processing'?
Under this right, you can ask MoneyGram to restrict the processing of your personal data (limit the activities in which we use your personal data) if:
- you believe that your personal data which we hold is inaccurate – in this case we will restrict (limit) the processing activities of such data until it is corrected and becomes fully accurate as instructed by you,
- you believe that our processing of your personal data is unlawful i.e., that we process your personal data without a lawful ground such as a legal obligation, your consent, or our legitimate interest and still you do not want us to delete your data, but would rather we restrict (limited) the processing activities of this data instead,

What is the 'right to data portability'?
The right to data portability allows individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services. It allows them to move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way without affecting its usability. In line with applicable data protection laws, only the data actively provided by the data subject to the data controller should fall within the scope of the right to data portability. That means we can share only basic data such as (i) name, (ii) surname, etc., so-called raw data – the data, data subject provided to MoneyGram. Data input should be considered in the scope, meaning that the data subject can request their original input.
How can I exercise my data portability right?
To exercise your right to data portability please use our Privacy Contact Us Form and select “Transfer my personal information to another controller” in the request type drop-down menu. Please let us know if you want us to send your personal data directly to another company or just share it with you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
What is the 'right to object to processing'?
Under this right, you can object to our processing of your personal data if: you have given us your consent to process your data for direct marketing purposes, but you no longer want us to process your personal data for any such purposes,
- you have given us your consent to process your data for direct marketing purposes, but you no longer want us to process your personal data for any such purposes,
- you have given us your consent to process your data for direct marketing purposes and we process your personal data for those purposes using profiling and you do not want to be subjected to any profiling activities but generally consent to having your data processed for direct marketing purposes,
- you can always object to processing based on MoneyGram or third-party legitimate interests unless MoneyGram can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing activities which override your interests, rights, and freedoms or unless such processing is necessary for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.

Does MoneyGram have automated decision-making?
At MoneyGram, we do not have a process based solely on automated decision-making, including profiling, as defined in the Art. 22 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), since all the decisions regarding MoneyGram consumers include involvement of MoneyGram employees. How do I set my preferences for receiving marketing communications from MoneyGram?
You can set your marketing communications preferences in your MoneyGram profile on the App or MoneyGram Online. In order to do so, you need to log in to your account, go to a ‘settings’ or ‘view profile info’ section, and change your notification preferences.
How can I opt out from marketing communications?
You can opt out from receiving marketing communications from us at any time by:
- Updating your choices on your MoneyGram profile;
- Clicking on the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of a MoneyGram marketing email;
- Replying “STOP” to a text or SMS message;
- Changing your push-notification parameters in your phone settings; or
- Notifying us via our Privacy Contact Us Form and selecting “I do not want to receive marketing communications.” in the request type drop-down menu.
How long will MoneyGram keep my data for?
We will store your data for as long as:
- it is necessary to provide our services to you as requested by you,
- we have your consent to process and store your data for direct marketing purposes,
- we are required to do so by applicable laws including but not limited to financial, tax, social security, AML, and privacy regulations,
- it is justified by our legitimate interest provided your rights and freedoms are safeguarded and are not negatively impacted by such storage.

How does MoneyGram store my data and keep it secure?
