Why does MoneyGram require me to provide identification?
The safety of your money transfer is important to us. To prevent fraud and help keep your money safe, MoneyGram requires you to show a valid ID to complete all money transfer transactions. Verifying that people are who they say they are helps reduce the risk of becoming a victim of a scam or fraud. We want you to be prepared when sending or receiving money. Depending on the payment option and receive method, transfers can take as little as few minutes to a few days. For faster transfers, select debit card as your payment option.

To save time, you can automatically send money to a recipient on a weekly or monthly basis by setting up a recurring send. To get started, simply select a past send under Transaction History on your MoneyGram profile home page and select Set Schedule.
