What are processing fees?
If you need to request a refund of a money order, processing fees will apply. Refund fees vary based on the face value. Simply start a refund request to see fee amounts. If you need to request a photocopy of a money order, an $18 processing fee will apply.
How does the money order refund process work?
If you need to request a refund for a money order that has not been cashed, it's an easy online process. (If it has been less than two weeks since you mailed the money order, it may still be in the mail.) After your request is submitted, we'll email you a reference number (processing takes about seven business days and there is a fee that will be deducted from your refund). Take your reference number and ID to a MoneyGram location and collect your refund.
