What is the 'right to data portability'?
The right to data portability allows individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services. It allows them to move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way without affecting its usability. In line with applicable data protection laws, only the data actively provided by the data subject to the data controller should fall within the scope of the right to data portability. That means we can share only basic data such as (i) name, (ii) surname, etc., so-called raw data – the data, data subject provided to MoneyGram. Data input should be considered in the scope, meaning that the data subject can request their original input.
