Does MoneyGram have automated decision-making?
At MoneyGram, we do not have a process based solely on automated decision-making, including profiling, as defined in the Art. 22 of the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), since all the decisions regarding MoneyGram consumers include involvement of MoneyGram employees. How do you implement 'privacy by design' at MoneyGram?
MoneyGram implements data protection into its processing activities and business practices, from the design stage right through the lifecycle (‘privacy by design’) and ensures that throughout the lifecycle data protection compliance is integrated and active by default (‘privacy by default’). To that end, MoneyGram: considers data protection issues as part of the design and implementation of systems, services, products, and business practices; strives to make data protection an essential component of the core functionality of our processing systems and services; anticipates risks and privacy-invasive events before they occur and take steps to prevent harm to individuals; only process the personal data that we need for our purposes(s), and that we only use the data for those purposes; strive to adopt a ‘plain language’ policy for any public documents so that individuals easily understand what we are doing with their personal data.

What is the 'right to data portability'?
The right to data portability allows individuals to obtain and reuse their personal data for their own purposes across different services. It allows them to move, copy or transfer personal data easily from one IT environment to another in a safe and secure way without affecting its usability. In line with applicable data protection laws, only the data actively provided by the data subject to the data controller should fall within the scope of the right to data portability. That means we can share only basic data such as (i) name, (ii) surname, etc., so-called raw data – the data, data subject provided to MoneyGram. Data input should be considered in the scope, meaning that the data subject can request their original input.
